Giffords Circus presents one of its most ambitious productions yet, combining enchanting storytelling with traditional circus skills in a spectacular open-air setting. Set against the stunning backdrop of Sudeley Castle, audiences can enjoy an unforgettable evening of acrobatics, live music, comedy, and classic circus theatrics in a truly magical atmosphere.

Gloucester’s Famous Cheese Roll 25th of May
The Gloucester Cheese Rolling is a world-famous annual event held on Cooper’s Hill near Gloucester, where competitors race down a steep hillside in pursuit of a wheel of Double Gloucester cheese. Known for its chaotic and adrenaline-fuelled nature, participants tumble and sprint down the hill, with the winner being the first to reach the bottom and claim the cheese.
The 2026 event is scheduled to take place on Monday 25th May 2026 (Spring Bank Holiday), with races typically starting around midday.
It remains one of the UK’s most unusual and iconic traditions, attracting visitors from around the world for a truly unforgettable spectacle.
Knights Tournament, Berkeley Castle- 3rd / 4th May.
The Knights Tournament takes place on 3rd–4th May and is located approximately a 36-minute drive from the hotel. Set against the stunning backdrop of Berkeley Castle, this spectacular event sees fully armoured knights compete in thrilling medieval combat.
Visitors can cheer on their favourite fighters as they battle it out in a series of traditional jousts and challenges. It’s a unique opportunity to experience history brought vividly to life in an authentic and atmospheric setting.


Wychwood Music Festival, 29th May until 31st May
Wychwood Festival
Wychwood Festival is a family-friendly music and arts festival held annually at Cheltenham Racecourse in Gloucestershire. Established in 2005, it offers a diverse programme of live music across multiple genres alongside comedy, workshops, and creative activities for all ages.
Known for its relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, the festival places a strong emphasis on inclusivity and community spirit, making it a popular event for families and visitors of all ages.
•Berkeley Castle Farmers Market, May 17th, 10am-2pm
The Farmers Market at Berkeley Castle is a regular local event held in the castle’s Kitchen Garden, typically on the third Sunday of each month from 10am to 2pm.
It brings together local farmers, artisans, and producers selling fresh food, drinks, and handmade crafts. Visitors can browse and buy local goods, support small businesses, and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the castle’s historic garden setting.
